Railroads & Rivers
American industrialization led to the alteration of landscapes for efficiency, to control nature, and to move products and people. In a moment where Iowa fears the power of water and begs for the resurrection of the rails, we can begin to see the overlooked and realize how the Bloomington, Cedar Rapids, and Northern Railway (BCRN) and Ralston Creek have shaped our city today.

Pipelines
The continent is interconnected not just by the superhighways we see but by vast under- ground networks of pipes that move petro- leum and natural gas from fields to refineries to markets. The proposed Keystone XL pipeline offers a provocation to understand our own place within the petro-economy.
